Born and raised in Greenwich Village, where I currently live, I was fortunate to have been encouraged from a young age to use and explore my innate creativity. My parents’ world included entrepreneurs, designers, musicians, and artists of all stripes, all of whom played a major role in shaping my personal aesthetic.  Like most kids, I did not realize the impact at the time. It's only in retrospect that I see the connection.

After a few years working at Vanity Fair, Mademoiselle, and Esprit, I pivoted to a focus on Interior Design as a profession, earning an Associates’ degree from Parsons School of Design. I found both my interest and strength in selecting materials and finishes, and in meeting the many challenges of their proper application. I have worked with several design firms on myriad projects - raising a family while working part-time, and taught several semesters of a course in Color and Materials as a visiting professor at Pratt Institute.

My interest in the medium of collage started with creating handmade note cards, using cancelled postage stamps from around the world. I sold them at street fairs and in retail stores - currently on Etsy. On January 1, 2018, feeling creatively blocked, I embarked on a personal challenge of doing a daily drawing or collage in a small sketchbook. This discipline has continued to the present. This self-challenge coincided with our kids moving back home after college and, when they moved out on their own, I was able to re-capture a Bedroom as a Studio. It took me a few years, but I ultimately made the decision to leave the Interior Design profession and focus full time on my art. I have never looked back.

My practice has now expanded to re-embrace printmaking - one of my earliest loves - as well as larger format collages, using the papers I’ve created. I particularly enjoy experimenting with multiple techniques and learning about creating wonderful source material for my collage work. I often find it difficult to part with my favorites, all the while asking myself.. what am I saving them for?

I take great pleasure in the journey, the process of learning by doing, the discovery, happy accidents and any surprises along the way- I invite you to stroll through my work and enjoy.
